About Us

The Chestnuts Club originally opened over 100 years ago and was known as the 'Tradesmans Club' as its clientele were mainly local businessmen. This has changed dramatically over the years and the club has become an extremely family friendly place to visit.

 

We have a bar area, a sports lounge and a function room that can be hired out to both members and non-members for events such as weddings, christenings, parties and wakes. Please check out the function room section here as it gives prices for both room hire and catering for your event. 

 

We have a beautifully kept garden area with swings and slides for children to use and an outdoor seating area for our members and guests. Many events are held for our members including quizzes, race nights, live music and we also show all of the major sporting events including football, rugby and golf on 3 large screens.

 

We offer a varied food menu on a Friday and a themed menu on a Thursday which includes Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Nando's amongst others.

 

We pride ourselves on being a safe place to come and have a drink without any concerns about bad behaviour, especially as a lot of our members bring their children along.

 

We are also dog friendly so you can bring them with you. Note that whilst food is being served on Thursdays and Fridays you will need to take them to the garden but for the rest of the week you are more than welcome to bring them to the bar area.
